The Center started as an investigatory project for myself. I had been hired by Greentrike, a Tacoma based child-centered nonprofit that runs The Children’s Museum of Tacoma, along with several other programs around Pierce County. I was excited about the job, but secretly, I didn’t know much of anything about early childhood education. So, I did what I know how to do: I grabbed a microphone, and walked into one of their childcare centers.
What resulted was a season of a show I am immensely proud of. I went with the Radiolab school of podcasting, and fastidiously worked on each episode. Outside of interviews with children and adults, I worked on sound design, folly, score, and structure.
