Inside With Greentrike

When the pandemic first hit, Greentrike (formerly The Children’s Museum of Tacoma) began looking for unique ways to reach their audience. We talked about what we were truly missing, and what felt strange about the content available at large. What was missing was connection, and what felt strange was the total lack of acknowledgement of what was happening in the world. Sure, we can give parents tips on keeping their kids entertained, but what families needed was help navigating a world none of us recognized.

I conducted interviews with families in lockdown over Zoom, and coached them through documenting their days with a smartphone. The result was a series of videos called Inside With Greentrike, mini-documentaries about working from home with toddlers, celebrating birthdays in isolation, and getting through a cataclysmic event together.
